Atlanta Man Detained After Carrying Five Guns, Body Armor into Grocery Two Days After Boulder Shooting
Police detained an Atlanta, Georgia man after he walked into a grocery store wearing body armor and carrying five guns on Wednesday, only two days after the Boulder, Colorado grocery store shooting that left 10 people dead.
Officer Anthony Grant, a spokesman for the Atlanta Police Department told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that officers were called to a local Publix supermarket just after 1:30 p.m., where they were met by a manager who told them that the unidentified man had entered the store with a rifle and immediately went into a bathroom. Officers detained the man and discovered five guns in his bag, including three pistols and two long guns. He was still being interviewed by police and undergoing a mental health evaluation as of early Wednesday evening.
