More than three years after his initial attempt to earn gold, Francis Ngannou became UFC champion.
At UFC 260 on Saturday, Ngannou (16-3 MMA, 11-2 UFC) knocked out Stipe Miocic 52 seconds into the second round.
The heavyweight title bout was the UFC 260 main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and early prelims on ESPN+.
Ngannou brutally stopped Miocic in the second round of their main-event bout at UFC 260.
‘The Predator’ was patient in attack as he tagged Miocic and showed off his wrestling defence, fending off takedowns in the opening round.
In the second round, the challenger finished the bout with a crushing sequence as he rocked the defending champion with a sharp left-hand.
Ngannou then dropped Miocic with a short left-hook before smashing the floored fighter with a brutal hammer-fist.
Francis Ngannou’s record now stands at 16-3 with all his victories coming inside the distance.
Miocic, on the other hand, suffers his first defeat since 2018 when he lost the UFC heavyweight title.
