Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, regent of the Zulu Nation was announced in March 2021 as the interim ruler of the Zulu nation, pending the installation of a new king to succeed the late King Zwelithini.
Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi announced yesterday April 29th, that the late King Goodwill Zwelithini KabhekuZulu’s widow had passed away unexpectedly, leaving the royal family “utterly bereft”.
-11 November 2020 – King Zwelithini’s eldest son died mysteriously.
-12 March 2021 – King Zwelithini passed away.
-29 April 2021 – Regent Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu has passed away.
Born in 1956,Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu was the daughter of late King Sobhuza Il of Eswatini then Swaziland and is an older sister to HM King Mswati III of Eswatini.
She married late King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu of Zulu kingdom, South Africa in 1977 as his third but became great royal wife as a princess of another royal house.
After the passing of her husband King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu of Zulu, she was named regent until her son Prince Misuzulu Zulu succeeds.
