Hisbah said the reason why the parents of the girl would be invited is to tell them that it is illegal in Islam for their daughter to participate in any beauty contest.
The commander said: “We (Hisbah) have confirmed that Shatu Garko is a muslim from Kano State and her parents are from Garko local government area. Kano is a sharia state and this is why we can’t keep quiet over the matter”.
