Former Cameroonian International soccer player, Samuel Eto’o was received Thursday by the President of the Republic of Chad, Marshal Idriss Déby Itno and the First Lady, in N’Djamena.
He is in Chad as part of the “School of Champions” program, initiated by the Youth Advisor of the African Union, Naïr Abakar with
discussions focused on the development of football in Chad.
Eto’o also took part in the competition, he help select young talents in N’Djaména. At the end of the phase, 15 footballers, aged 10 to 15 won scholarships to join the Kadji Sport Academy in Cameroon for 2 years of study.
According to Samuel Eto’o, this is the start of a great adventure.
“Thank you to the Chadian people, and especially to the President and the First Lady, for their warm welcome.All the best to the 15 players selected for the school of champions, who will head to Douala to begin their dream.
To the others, I wish perseverance. Their efforts will surely bear fruits in their own time adrenaline”
This program has the dual objective of developing inter-African exchanges and promoting a model of sporting excellence for young Africans.
A partnership will be formed to build a football school bearing the initiative’s name in N’Djamena.
