The coronation of King Misuzulu is on the way at the Zulu Royal Palace. King Misuzulu ascended to the throne after his mother passed on, shortly after ascending to the throne.
She had taken the place of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu who succumbed to Covid-19. King Goodwill Zwelithini succeeded his father – King Cyprian Bhekuzulu, in 1968, however due to his then age (20), Prince Israel Mcwayizeni acted on his behalf from 1968 until 1971 after he had married. It was then that he was installed as the Zulu King.
The current king being installed today is the third son to his father – who had 6 wives in total. His coronation follows a timeline of events that arose due to the contestation of the throne. During the event which involved him entering the royal kraal and communicating with the ancestors in spirit he was blessed by the presence of the Swaziland Royal House – his maternal family.
