Zulu Nation, His Majesty King MisuZulu kaZwelithini begins process of getting married
Lobola negotiations have begun for the new AmaZulu King’s sweetheart.
On Thursday, King MisuZulu kaZwelithini 46, sent a delegation to negotiate on his behalf and pay his dowry, in isiZulu known as lobola, to the family of his queen-to-be in Newcastle.
The news of the lobola ( dowry) being paid to the mother of the king’s children has been confirmed by AmaZulu Traditional Prime Minister, Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi.
This comes days after the Zulu monarch’s Prime Minister rejected assertions that the King needed to be married to ascend the throne.
There has been much speculation as to whether or not King Misuzulu has already been married.
Earlier this week, Traditional Prime Minister Mangosuthu Buthelezi defended the king, saying he didn’t have to be married in order to ascend to the throne.
Meanwhile, the king has hit the ground running with a series of meet and greets.
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has pledged his government’s support to the King at the Royal Palace in KwaNongoma.
The king has also had back-to-back meetings with several other leaders in the province.
